About BIG BENDER
Hosted by Sul Ross State University, BIG BENDER is a non-sanctioned super-fun Ultimate tournament located in the unique and scenic Big Bend region of Texas. We invite men's, women's, and mixed teams of all varieties and divisions.
In 2026, BIG BENDER will take place November 7th-8th in Alpine, TX.
BID FEES
The cost per team is $200. After October 15, the base price goes up to $250 per team.

FOOD
We enjoy hosting you right. That means we will have really good and plentiful snacks and iced-down water containers to sustain you throughout tournament-play.
On Saturday night, you will have the option to gorge yourself on some west Texas cuisine at Skelton's Runway. In previous years, we sold $4 tickets to pay for this hearty meal that usually involved loads of meat and generous sides. With the reduction in the bid fee, we expect dinner to be on you. We will try to negotiate an enticing price ($15-$20/plate). Catering neogotiations are underway.
Musical entertainment is included. Each dinner has up to a pound of meat!!! We certainly want you to have a memorable yet affordable experience here at BIG BENDER.
Happy Hour Drink Prices will be available for all drink types throughout the evening!
HOTELS AND SUCH
We do have a very good lineup of hotels and motels which include Best Western, Holiday Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn, and several good but local options. Ask for the Sul Ross rates. Most of our hotels/motels reduce your price when you are here for a university event.
FIELDS
BIG BENDER will be played on three artificial turf fields. As pictured, one of the fields will be Jackson Field, the home of the Sul Ross Lobos Football team. This event is open to the public and draws crowds at each field.
We have close access to good bathrooms and shade.
There are trees for shade, and we will have two shade canopies available. If you bring a shade canopy, you can't drive stakes into our artificial turf, so sand bags may be necessary.
Lawn chairs are welcome. Pets are not.
